To everyone's surprise Sillary Flinton won the election and America is great again. That is, until a body pops out of a concrete panel at the entrance to Hump Tower in the beautiful and law abiding paradise of Chicago. Then other bodies pop out here and there until the whole place descends to mass riots and city-wide destruction. This can be quelled only by the North Korean troops. In Chicago? Why? To show peace by marching with our troops in the Independence Day Parade. And world peace is also declared by Vlad, The Putin, and Sillary Flinton after our mutual attacks on each other failed. This actually happened. Seriously.
Now, who did these despicable acts? Other murders in Chicago are not despicable or out of the ordinary, but murder in any way involving the persons that count must be avenged. Were Hump and Flinton involved? Drugs?
The renowned law firm of Fenton, Pettigrew & Cohenstein is involved with these people and its poofy young associate, Sean Featherbottom, is accused. Did he do it? That would be bad publicity so the great big nobody Managing Partner, Bumper Lohman, sorts it all out and identifies the real killer, but not until the end of the book where all is revealed and made clear.
The weirdo characters whose activities are described herein, although in Chicago they are not weird, include the exalted Gaybourne St. Charles, the eminent, anti-semitic, snobby, socially prominent Chairman of Fenton, Pettigrew & Cohenstein. Then there is Zenon Cohenstein, the Vice Chairman, whose up and coming firm merged with the Fenton firm as it was sliding down hill. Zenon could sell heaters in Hell. The person who has to handle the daily messes created by these and other prominent lawyers is Bumper Lohman, the Managing Partner. Who? That is exactly what everyone else in the firm says, at least until they need some big mess cleaned up. Until that point he is the world's biggest nobody.
Numerous other lawyers populate the firm, but one you should know about is Sean Featherbottom, the swishy young associate who apparently goes around killing people and getting away with it. He does it again and that is what this book describes. Another young lawyer is John Sweeney who is attracting show business clients left and right, although some are rumored to be moderates. One is the hottest young pop star ever, Trisha DeLang, who could cause mass deaths from shock with her potty mouth in any nursing home she was allowed to enter.
Other persons of importance whose activities are recorded are Will Flinton, the Vice President who takes over the Oval Office in the White House and gets up to no good therein, and his wife, Sillary, the President who is present and on the job every week from Tuesday through Thursday. She knows we are safe from attack on Friday through Monday. These two somehow have connections in various ways with Ronald Hump, who lost the election, but apparently is involved with them in a shipping company, Wao Tang Nu, which ships cement from his cement company in Mexico, Humpy Cement, to Whiteman Materials in Chicago. Apparently they are also somehow involved in Progressive Pharma Concepts, a drug company that supplies prescription medications to a nationwide substance abuse treatment organization run by the D'Gregor Temple. Whiteman Materials is owned and run by Avon Whiteman and his beautiful wife Trulia and his son by another marriage, Eddie. D'Gregor Temple was created by Wilfred D'Gregor, its Grand Deacon. Bungus LaRue, the Governmental Affairs partner of the firm, happens to be involved with these people too and it just so happens he is a Deacon of the Temple too, along with Avon and his wife and certain other politicians and other well connected people.
The body that popped out of the Hump Tower was Avon Whiteman's. He popped out of a concrete panel his company had delivered to the Tower. The other bodies popped out of panels delivered by Whiteman Materials too. One was a Mexican drug lord who had been missing ever since he escaped from prison in Mexico. A driver for Whiteman Materials was in the same panel. The other body was that of Wilfred D'Gregor.
Whiteman's butler, Snively Blackman, seems to know about a lot of this too so his activities are recorded, along with information being provided about the agent of Humpy Cement in Chicago, Jared Bannon, who also seems to know something about these things.
Fake news is all over these days, but this book is the real truth.
- Fenton, Pettigrew & Cohenstein. One of the most prestigious law firms in the country. Represents large businesses and rich people. Its Conflicts Committee must decide who it can or cannot represent when a body pops out of Hump Tower in Chicago and when POTUS Sillary Flinton decides she wants to build massive concrete walls in Chicago on land to be owned by Ronald Hump and with cement supplied by him.
- Bumper Lohman, the Managing Partner of F, P & C. The biggest nobody in town until they need the hard stuff done. He has to delve into matters involving the body at Hump Tower when the police want to arrest one of the firm's young lawyers for the murder.
- Ronald Hump. The biggest debtor in the world. Lost the election to Sillary Flinton. It turns out he has numerous business and financial connections to her including in a shipping company that ships cement from his company, Humpy Cement, in Mexico to Chicago to a ready mix concrete firm, Whiteman Materials, Inc.
- Sillary Flinton. Won the election and is now President and glorious, at least on Tuesday through Thursday which are the only days she can be found. Husband Will is the Vice President. Since Hump got a lot of mileage about building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, she is going to build walls too. They will be around "safe" communities which will be walled off from the offenders.
- Avon Whiteman (black). Owns Whiteman Materials, Inc., the ready mix company, which also owns a panel concrete company and gets art panels from another company using its premises. His company supplied the panel to Hump Tower from which the body popped out. Whose body? His. It also supplied the panels where other bodies popped out in downtown Chicago. Suspects that his wife, Trulia Whiteman (white), and his butler, Snively Blackman (white), are romantically involved. He changes his estate plan so his son from a prior marriage, Eddie, will get most of it. He and his companies are clients of F, P & C.
- Sean Featherbottom. A young lawyer working for F, P & C. He had worked for Whiteman Materials when going to school and was fired for being gay. He has the dead guy's ring which Whiteman had on him the night he disappeared..
- Bungus LaRue. The Governmental Affairs partner of F, P & C who works with politicians. Because of all the governmental connections of people involved in the deaths, he is consulted often.
- Jared Bannon. Agent in the U. S. for Humpy Cement. Nickname is Fat Tuna. Called Dat Tuna by a dyslectic butler.
- Vlad, The Putin. President of Russia. Pats Sillary on the butt on worldwide TV.
- Hump Deluxe Air - Hump Deluxe. Owned by Hump. One of its planes coming from Columbia crashes near the Humpy Cement plant in Mexico. It is loaded with drugs.
- Wilfred D'Gregor. Grand Deacon of the D'Gregor Temple, headquartered in Chicago. Besides the Temple, it runs a string of substance abuse clinics. The Whitemans, their butler Snively Blackman, and a lot of politicians are involved with the Temple. D'Gregor's body pops out of another Whiteman concrete panel in Chicago.
- Mezzamo Guzalemonez. Mexican drug lord who escaped from prison and disappeared. His body pops out of another Whiteman panel.
- OWEP, Organization for World Everlasting Peace. Phillipines, North Korea, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Zimbabwe. Created by Hump after the U.S. and Russian attacks on each other fail due to hacking.
